Sue Higgins will present the recent Center for Naval Analyses’ report as part of the 2007/08 Monterey Institute of International Studies Environmental Speaker Series. A blue ribbon panel of eleven retired three-star and four-star admirals and generals studied how changing global climate may present serious threats to U.S. national security and to American armed forces at home and abroad.
Also on Wednesday Oct 24, Panama Bartholomy, Advisor to the Chair of the California Energy Commission, will be visiting the Cebrowski Institute.
Wednesday November 7
Mitzi Wertheim, former Undersecretary of the Navy, host of a highly visible monthly DC lecture series that has featured James Woolsey and Walmart VPs, creator of www.energyconversation.org, a collaborative webspace, and the Energy Yellow Pages, will discuss the DoD’s movement on energy and the environment, EO 13423 and why it is essential that the various govt. agencies work together to create
social change.
