Writing Pedagogy; Vietnam War; Chinese History
Helen Anderson began teaching Research and Writing for National Security at NPS in 2011. Previously, she taught in the California State University system and at the University of Indianapolis for twenty-five years. In 1996, the Indiana Council for Continuing Education named Dr. Anderson the “Outstanding Faculty Member of the Year for the State of Indiana.” She served as Associate Editor of the Roster and Research List for the Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations. Her degrees include a PhD in History and International Relations and a Master’s in History from the University of Virginia. She also earned a Certificate of Interdisciplinary Asian Studies from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor’s in History and Education from the University of Massachusetts. In 2011, her article “Fighting for Family: Vietnamese Women and the American War” was published in The Columbia History of the Vietnam War.
