The Operations Research Department at the Naval Postgraduate School invites applications for full-time faculty positions in the following five areas:
- Stochastic Modeling
- Mathematical Optimization
- Military Modeling
Tenure-track, non-tenure-track, and visiting positions at all ranks are available. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in operations research or a related field, and possess a strong research background and a keen interest in solving real-world problems. Responsibilities include teaching and supervising at graduate levels and maintaining a program of original research.
NPS is a fully accredited technical university with a highly motivated student body consisting mainly of U.S. and foreign military officers. The OR Department offers Masters and Ph.D. degrees, and a spectrum of courses in probability, statistics, and optimization. Research opportunities abound in defense-related areas, including combat modeling, manpower analysis, war gaming, homeland security, survival analysis, and simulation. NPS is located on the Monterey Peninsula, about 120 miles south of San Francisco.
