The Naval Postgraduate School's Defense Energy program is the result of a mandate from the Secretary of the Navy to institute Defense-Centered Energy programs that respond to the Navy's need for ever-greater flexibility and resilience. In response, NPS has created a strong network of educators, government leaders and subject-matter experts who design and deliver innovative, interdisciplinary energy education programs ranging from graduate degrees and specialized academic certificates to executive education short courses. At the center of our graduate programs is a faculty well-versed in the Defense Energy needs of warfighters and a student body at the cutting edge of military technology. Together, they are doing Defense Energy research that spans the arenas of Science and Technology as well as Policy and Analysis, and responds to the Department of the Navy's Defense Energy Goals.
