Acoustics
The Acoustics Laboratory equipment includes a large anechoic chamber, a small reverberation chamber and a multiple-unit acoustics laboratory for student experimentation in acoustics in air. Sonar equipment, test and wave tanks and instrumentation for investigation in underwater sound comprise the Underwater Acoustics Laboratory. |
Basic Physics
The Basic Physics Laboratory has simple and computer controlled experiments to help demonstrate Newton’s laws of motion, rotational kinematics, gravitation, Gauss’ Law, electrical potential, Ac and DC circuits. |
Modern Physics
Modern Physics Laboratory has simple and computer controlled experiments to help demonstrate special relativity, the wave-particle duality, the Schrödinger equation, and atoms and molecules. |
Robotics
The Robotics Laboratory is the capstone Applied Physics class where students design and build autonomous robots. |
Optics
The Optics Laboratory experiments demonstrate Geometrical optics, Physical optics, multiple-beam interference, Fraunhofer and Fresnel diffraction, and polarization. |
Simulations
The Simulations Laboratory provides a variety of computer platforms used to simulate physical systems. |
Electro Optics
The Electro Optics Laboratory experiments provide hands-on familiarity with television, CCD, CID, remote sensors, lasers, and scanning imagers. |
Precision fabrication facility
The Precision Fabrication Facility provides proto-type machining support for all teaching and research laboratories. |
Electronics R&D facility
The Electronics R&D Facility provides proto-type electronics support for all teaching and research laboratories. |
