M&S Acquisition Managers Guidebook
The Naval Postgraduate School is leading a multi-university effort to provide education and training options that will enhance the acquisition workforce’s ability to apply modeling and simulation tools, ultimately augmenting war fighting capability while reducing lifecycle development time and costs. The Naval Postgraduate School announces the completion of the System Acquisition Managers Guide to Modeling and Simulation.
Areas covered in this new guidebook include (but are not limited to): High Level Architecture; Hierarchy of Modeling and Simulation; Federations; Modeling and Simulation in Support of Acquisition; Credibility of Modeling and Simulation; Standards for Modeling and Simulation; Verification, Validation and Accreditation (VV&A); Intellectual Property; and Best Practices.
The completed work is available for download via this link Acquisition Guide Manager (pdf).
Engineering Case Studies
A series of engineering case studies were assembled as supplemental material for this program.
These case studies are primarily aimed at acquisition professionals who do not possess
an engineering degree or perhaps do not have a strong background in physics-based M&S,
and emphasis is placed on describing the underlying engineering concepts.
