MS in Program Management - Admissions

Admission Procedure

Department of Defense (DoD) and other Federal Government employees interested in pursuing a Distance Learning Master of Science in Program Management (MSPM) degree are invited to apply for admission to the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS).

1.  Applicants must request official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended and sent to the following NPS address:

2. Complete the on-line admission request via this website. Individuals contemplating application for this program should submit their request for admission to NPS as soon as possible. http://www.nps.edu/Admissions/ApplyOnline.html

The US Army Acquisition Support Center (USAASC) will fund up to 20 Acquisition Logistics and Technology workforce members at the GS12/13 or equivalent grades within a Demonstration Project or the National Security Personnel System. These students should apply directly to USAASC after applying to the Naval Postgraduate School for the letter of acceptance.

In addition to the NPS eligibility requirements, you must meet the following eligibility requirements to be selected and receive funding from USAASC.

  • Be a civilian member of the Acquisition, Logistics and Technology (AL&T) Workforce
  • Be a GS-12/13 or equivalent grade within a Demonstration Project or the National Security Personnel System
  • Be certified in your current acquisition position
  • Be serving in a competitive appointment Tenure Group 1 or 2
  • Have a letter of Acceptance from NPS

How to Apply:  The Army ASC internal MSPM application is automated.  Applications should be submitted through the Army Acquisition Professional Development System(AAPDS).  AAPDS can be accessed via your CAMP login at https://rda.altess.army.mil/camp/The user name and password will be the same used to access the Individual Development Plan (IDP) and Acquisition Career Record Brief (ACRB).  Applicants must still use the IDP to annotate their training courses and programs.  AAPDS is connected to the IDP and will import supervisory approved training into the application system.  Once in AAPDS, applicants should click on the event entitled “AETE NPS 836 MSPM 2008-2010” and follow the tabs to submit your application requirements.  All the documents listed below should be submitted in AAPDS.  NOTE: Do not submit these documents to NPS.  You will be required to submit the following information/documents using AAPDS:

  4. Statement of Interest
  5. Utilization Plan
  6. Performance Appraisals
  7. Agreement
  8. Resume
