Guidance, Navigation & Control Laboratory
Guidance and navigation is an important component of most aerospace missions. Designing advanced guidance and control architecture and developing their supporting algorithms is the main focus of this Lab. During the recent years, a significant breakthrough was achieved by a revolutionary feedback approach that guarantees optimality and feasibility of the obtained solutions. In this approach, the guidance and control "laws" are determined in real-time with an adaptive nonlinear model instead of the traditional off-line design and implementation. Read more...
Nonlinear Control Systems Laboratory
Designing advanced optimal control trajectories for complex nonlinear dynamic systems is the goal of the NCS lab. The concept has been theoretically and experimentally applied to basic benchmark problems such as inverted pendulum. The optimal solutions provide order of magnitude performance enhancement compared to traditional control algorithms. Read more...
Cognitive Systems Laboratory
The Cognitive Systems Laboratory specializes in providing autonomous intelligence to robotic systems. This includes unmanned vehicle path planning and designing collision avoidance control algorithms for cooperative robot manipulators. Read more...
Estimation and Identification Laboratory
Research projects in the Estimation and Identification laboratory involves state/parameter estimation for nonlinear systems using Unscented Kalman Filtering. Read more...
