HSI Certificate Program

Certificate in Human Systems Integration

Graduate School of Operational and Information Sciences (GSOIS)

Program Length: 1 Year

Starts: Fall

Curriculum #262

 Program Overview

Human Systems Integration (HSI) acknowledges that the human is a critical component in any complex system.  It is an interdisciplinary approach that makes explicit the underlying tradeoffs across the HSI domains (and, in particular, manpower, personnel, training, and human factors engineering) to optimize total system performance within the constraints of cost, schedule, and risk.

This program will challenge students to examine how best to integrate human considerations into all phases of the lifecycle of a complex system.

Students will be able to participate in the lifecycle acquisition process as HSI practitioners.  They will be able to evaluate system acquisition programs for HSI compliance.  Students will also be able to conduct tradeoff analyses by assessing the contributions of manpower, personnel, training, human factors engineering, environment, safety, survivability, habitability, and health hazards with respect to cost, schedule, risk, and performance.

The following distance learning delivery method(s) may be used for this program:
