National Research Council (NRC) Post-Doctoral Appointments at NPS

Remote Sensing Research at NPS

NRC appointments at NPS are an excellent opportunity in general, and specifically with the Remote Sensing Center.

The faculty in the Remote Sensing Center have funds to support NRC Associateships, which pay reasonably healthy salaries, and have a good benefit package. NPS funds for this program and furnishes all necessary support services, facilities, and equipment for the approved research program of each Associate.

Specifice research topics follow with individual advisors, but in 2008 include video processing (Kolsch, Squire), aerosols (Durkee), LIDAR (olsen), and millimeter wave detectors (Karunasiri). Graduating students are encouraged to contact members of th Remote Sensing Center to explore upcoming opportunities in their fields of expertise.

Publication

Since an Associate's later scientific and technical career will be judged by others, publication in the accepted open technical literature is highly encouraged.

Publications should include a statement indicating that the research was conducted while the author held a National Research Council Research Associateship, and should acknowledge NPS.
