Executive
COLONEL ELLZEY retired in 1995 after a twenty eight year career in the U.S. Army. During this period, he served in a variety of Infantry and Aviation command and staff assignments, culminating in his assignment as the Installation Commander of Ft Ord. Ca. responsible for the command and management of all installation/garrison departments at Ft Ord, Ca. and the 7th Infantry Division as well as leading the Ft Ord closure/cleanup and reuse programs for the Army. He served in Vietnam as an infantry platoon leader and as a helicopter pilot with the 101st Airborne Division. During his career he also served with the 82nd Airborne Division, the 25th Infantry Division and the 18th Airborne Corps.
He brings to the Global Center for Security Cooperation years of executive level experience in leading people and managing organizations. Extensive experience in the areas of: leadership, planning, program development, security plans and programs, marketing, operational plans, personnel management, research, assessment, design, portrayal, educational training, management information systems, disaster programs, administration, contracting, proposals, costs, budgets, purchasing, logistics, energy, environmental impacts and environmental litigation.
Diverse military and civilian careers highlighted by sophisticated positions requiring absolute management, problem solving, and leadership. Highlights of his civilian career include; President, the Rockmill Group, Fayetteville, NC., executive consultants for management, operations and planning for the transformation of closed military bases into commercial and private developments. Followed by over four years at Womack Army Medical Center, Ft Bragg North Carolina; where Colonel Ellzey was a defense contractor managing the Army’s newest and one of its largest medical facilities.
