CCC Forum: War with Iraq—Problems and Prospects
The Center for Contemporary Conflict convened a forum on February 13, 2003 on the topic "War with Iraq: Problems and Prospects." The forum featured presentations by three professors in the National Security Affairs Department.
Removal of Saddam: End of an Era
Professor James Russell presented remarks on the topic: "Removal of Saddam: End of An Era." Professor Russell argued that the removal of Saddam will represent, in effect, the crumbling of the Berlin Wall in the Middle East and Persian Gulf, unleashing forces that will pose a variety of strategic challenges to the United States and the international community. Professor Karen Guttieri delivered remarks on "Post Conflict Reconstruction in Iraq." Professor Guttieri addressed the challenges facing the United States as it seeks to formulate a coherent strategy for rebuilding the country into some sort of workable political entity.
