EDUCATIONAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS (ESRs)
The officer must understand the fundamental concepts and be familiar with the basic functional areas of environmental law as applied to the Department of the Navy (DON) and the Department of Defense (DOD), specifically with respect to:
- Pollution abatement and environmental compliance
- Environmental restoration
- Wildlife and natural resource conservation
- Environmental planning
- Intergovernmental relations
- Environmental litigation
The officer should also have a basic understanding of the principles of international law.
